My Philosophy

I am truly passionate about yard care and stewardship of the natural beauty that keeps bringing people to Austin.

My philosophy when it comes to the environment is simple. Natural yards are more resilient to disease, less prone to drought and even look better. Synthetic fertilizers and herbicides can have their place in targeted applications, but they must be balanced by the underlying soil health that comes from clean, green, organic goodness.

Getting a thick, green lawn or custom landscape takes time and care. But with my help I can get you there, and your yard can be the envy of the neighborhood. Together, lets keep Austin green for future generations to enjoy!

My Story

Ever since I was a little boy I loved playing in the dirt and being outside. I would spend my weekends building trails in the local woods and planting secret gardens to enjoy. After studying Biology, I decided academia wasn't for me and spent years traveling our great county living on farms learning permaculture, sustainable farming, and various gardening techniques. 

When my daughter was born, I started my first business making artisanal chocolate by hand. With a passion for working with the absolute best ingredients available, I embarked on a crash course in food manufacturing. After years of learning business management the hard way, I sold the business and went back to school to study Business Administration. 

Taking classes by night, I worked in landscaping by day, often going to class still muddy from work and staying up late studying accounting and economics before having to rise early in the morning to do it all over again. I am no stranger to hard work!

I then spent years working as a manager at a luxury retailer. I was thankful for the hands on experience in sales at the highest levels of customer service, but being cooped up inside full time just wasn't for me. My body craved the satisfaction of a job well done.

I founded Austin Greenscapes to combine my unique passion and experience to bring to you. A house is more than your family's most important asset. I look forward to the opportunity to let the beauty of nature add value to your home.
